We operate our websites to communicate with our members and prospective members, to distribute information and resources about Girlguiding Ulster and Lorne Estate and to sell places on our events.
By using these websites, you signify your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions of Use.
Occasionally we may make changes to our terms and conditions and would recommend that you read them every time you use this site. If you do not accept our terms conditions, then you should cease to use this site with immediate effect.

While every effort is made by us to ensure that all information published on this website is accurate and correct when posted, we cannot guarantee its accuracy at the time of access by the visitor and so you are advised to verify the accuracy of any information before acting upon it. We may also change the information at any time without notice.

Girlguiding Ulster is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy details the information we collect from you when you access the Girlguiding Ulster website and the steps we take to ensure that this information remains confidential.
Our Intentions
We collect some basic information about you in order to improve your browsing experience and to process any order made by you in our online training and events shop. We will not release any personal information to a third party under any circumstances unless expressly authorised to do so by you, or if we are obliged to do so by law.
All information will be dealt with in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and we will always aim to meet current internet best practices.
What information do we collect?
Using Google Analytics we collect information about your usage of our site in order to improve your browsing experience. This information is about your computer, is not personal to you and is collected regardless of whether you have registered with us. The information we collect includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Your IP address
- Information on your computer such as your operating system and browser software
- your geographic location
- the amount of time you spend accessing the Girlguiding Ulster website including the amount of time you spend on any given page
- the website you were on prior to landing on our website.
The Girlguiding Ulster website uses cookies which are a small text file stored on your computer’s disk drive. This is a very common process, is completely harmless and cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer.

Should you register with us in order to purchase tickets for an event, you will also provide us with the following information:

- Your address and telephone number
- your email address
- your Girlguiding membership number (if applicable)
- your role within Girlguiding
- the name of your Guiding county and unit
- any special requirements
- your credit/debit card details
Under the Data Protection Act you have the right to request a copy of all personal information we hold for you. All such requests should be sent to:

An appropriate fee will be payable on the disclosure of this information. Should any of the data be incorrect or incomplete, a written statement should be sent to the same address where we will endeavour to amend the data promptly.
Use of Girlguiding Ulster and Lorne Estate Events Booking System
Our websites sell places on for our member events held across Ulster and also places on non member events such as our Summer Scheme.
Making a purchase (Members)
This should be read in conjunction with the event you are booking on which will have specific details of costs, deposits, closing dates and payment plans (if applicable)
Where the cost of the event is £20 or less per person then the entire balance should be paid at time of booking. A third of this amount will be considered as a non-refundable deposit.
Where the cost of the event is £20.01 or more a deposit and payment schedule will be put into place (See event listing for details). The deposit amount taken at time of booking will be non-refundable. You will be advised of the payment schedule for the remaining cost and further payments should be made on or before the due date. If you fail to make these payments, your places may be reallocated. If you experience difficulties meeting the payment plan please contact the Activities Operations Manager as soon as possible to discuss your situation.
Making a purchase (Non Members)
This should be read in conjunction with the event you are booking on which will have specific details of costs and other information such as closing dates.
Full payment will be required at time of booking to secure your place on our events.
Minimum age policy
You must be 14 or over to purchase a place(s) on any events. Those aged 14-17 should have permission from their parent/ guardian before use.
Girlguiding Ulster offers two methods of payment:
By credit/debit card
If you choose to pay by credit/debit card you will receive an email confirmation within 24 hours of the transaction and your booking will be considered confirmed.
We use Sage Pay to collect and process card transaction information. You can view the Sage Pay security policy at http://www.sagepay.co.uk/policies/security-policy
By Invoice (members only)
For some events you will be able to select to be invoiced rather than pay by card. If you choose this option you will receive an invoice by email and your booking will be considered provisional until the payment is made in full either by cheque in the post or by cash in person at Lorne. It is your responsibility to ensure your email address is entered correctly. You will have 14 days from the time of booking to make your payment and if you fail to do so your booking will be automatically cancelled without notice.
Cancellation Policy
You may cancel any booking at any time via email or in writing to Girlguiding Ulster.
All deposits/payments are non-refundable.
Should you cancel within 8 weeks of the event a charge of 50% of the overall fee will apply.
Should you cancel within 7 days of the event a charge of 100% of the overall fee will apply.
Should you cancel an event which is free of charge, we reserve the right to require you to pay us any costs we reasonably incurred in relation to your units attendance at the event. We will invoice this amount to you.
Girlguiding Ulster reserves the right to modify or cancel the event if unforeseen circumstances arise or if the numbers are too low to warrant going ahead. In this instance, a full refund of any monies paid will be made to participants.
Easter/Summer Schemes
We reserve the right to exclude or refuse any person at anytime prior or during the scheme if their behavior is not compatible for the safety and enjoyment of the scheme. No refund will be provided.
We do not accept liability for loss or damage of any personal items belonging to participants. We recommend that items such as mobile phones should be left at home.
Should you cancel within 8 weeks of the event a charge of 50% of the overall fee will apply.
Should you cancel within 2 weeks of the event a charge of 100% of the overall fee will apply.
Places cannot be transferred to another participant nor can they be transferred to another day.
The hours of our scheme days are from 8.45am to 4.30pm and we assume full responsibility of your child during this time. No supervision is provided before 8.45 and it is your responsibility to ensure your child is collected promptly as we do not provide a late pick up service. We appreciate that something unforeseen may happen which might mean a participant is not collected on time. If this happens then we expect that you will contact our office on 028 90425212 as soon as possible.. Repeated abuse of this will result in exclusion of the participant on our schemes. No refund will be provided.
Delivery
Your email confirmation on receipt of payment should be considered as your ticket for entry to the event. Please note: You will NOT be sent any actual tickets for any event.
